PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a newly addition of a terminal that utilizes a wireless LAN by a simple method while preventing leak of data representing an encryption key. SOLUTION: An access point 20 uses a register button 127 to change the coverage range of a radio wave transmitted from the access point 20 from a radio communication area AR1 that is an ordinary range, into a security communication area MR1 that is a narrower range. Thereafter, the access point 20 distributes a WEP (wired equivalent privacy) key to be used to a terminal 50 and registers a MAC (media access control) address of the terminal 50 after distribution is confirmed.
