PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of changing steering auxiliary force by detecting driver's force characteristic and compensating a control value of an electric motor based on the detected force characteristic and having great change of steering auxiliary force. SOLUTION: When driver's force characteristic value P is in a first region A<SB>1</SB>(predetermined value P<SB>1</SB>≤P < predetermined value P<SB>2</SB>), first compensation amount L = L<SB>1</SB>composed of a fixed positive value is set. When driver's force characteristic value P is in a second region A<SB>2</SB>(predetermined value P<SB>5</SB>≤P), second compensation amount L = - L<SB>2</SB>composed of a fixed negative value is set.
