PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powdery polyphenylene sulfide for coating, which forms a coating film with retaining a high film strength even when the thickness of the formed film is thin, by suppressing generation of bubbles and cracks in the film so as to prevent the film properties from being deteriorated. SOLUTION: The powdery polyphenylene sulfide for coating is a powdery polyphenylene sulfide consisting of linear polyphenylene sulfide powders having 1,200/s sheering rate, 150-500 Pa s melt viscosity at 310°C and≥80 mass% content of the particles having particle diameters of≤177μm, and is suitably coated by induction heating.
