The stirrup has a floor board (2) carrying removable anti-skid plate (3) to serve as a support for a shoe sole of a horse rider. The plate and the base have a complementary unit to maintain the base in determined position in relation to the plate. The complementary unit has a hollow part integrated to the base and projection integrated to the plate presenting a complementary form of the hollow part. The complementary unit supports each other in the determined position and can release itself under effect of determined effort, in case of fall of the rider.
