PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system for avoiding right and left turns being burden on a driver to the utmost by improving a method of a route search in a road having a junction at this side of a branch point of an intersection or the like, and to provide its method. SOLUTION: The navigation system determines whether it is satisfied that the road 160 in which the other road 150 joins at this side of the intersection 180 has a plurality of traffic lanes, right and left turn lanes are different in a lane and intersection in which the other road 150 joins, and a location where the other road 150 joins is a constant distance L or shorter from the branch point.
