PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image correction apparatus and an imaging unit which enable eye-related defect such as red-eye portions or gold-eye portions in an image to be confirmed by a simple operation, as an image correction apparatus and an imaging unit for detecting eye-related defect such as red-eye portions or gold-eye portions in an image and correcting the detected defect. SOLUTION: The image correction apparatus is provided with an image acquisition section for acquiring image data representing an image, a correction section for detecting the eye-related defect in the image represented by the image data acquired by the image acquisition section and for correcting the detected defect and an image display section for displaying the image based on the image data. When the image data are acquired by the image acquisition section, the image display section displays a corrected image after the defect is corrected by the correction section, so that the detected defect and the corrected defect are confirmed simultaneously at one time by the corrected image.
