<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zirconia sintered compact which is conductive and excellent in electric discharge machinability. <P>SOLUTION: The conductive sintered compact which is a partially stabilized zirconia having 1-30 vol.% conductive material and is composed of a sintered particle aggregate part having a fine structure formed from the partially stabilized zirconia particles and the conductive material unevenly distributed in the peripheral part has the excellent electric discharge machinability. The sintered compact is obtained by mixing and applying 1-30 vol.% conductive material on the surface of the partially stabilized zirconia and/or a stabilizing agent-containing zirconia granulated body in which the diameter of the sintered particle aggregate after being sintered and shrunk is 10-300 μm, molding the mixed coated powder and sintering in an inert atmosphere or a reducing atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
