PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed flying object such as a small rocket for launch of a pico type or micro type artificial satellite, a fairing included in the head of the high-speed flying object, and a manufacturing method for the fairing. SOLUTION: The artificial satellite 2 is formed integrally with the fairing 6 used as a shell, and the artificial satellite 2 is mounted to the upper part of a first stage solid motor 3 via a second stage solid motor 4 and an inter-stage section 5, thereby constituting a two-stage type rocket 1. The fairing 6 is provided with an ablator layer as a thermal protection system, and the surface of the ablator layer is coated with heat resistant paint having low sunlight absorptance to form a low sunlight absorptance layer. A plurality of ventilation holes are formed in the low sunlight absorptance layer, and pyrolysis gas generated from the ablator layer by aerodynamic heating provided at the flying time of the two-stage type rocket 1 is discharged out of the the fairing 6 through the ventilation holes.
