PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric hinge with a motor constructed suitably for miniaturization while considering two types of rotation operation of manual rotation and electric rotation of a movable object. SOLUTION: In this electric hinge device 10 with the motor, a third rotating part 22 continues idle rotation at a friction engagement part B when a user forcedly stops rotation of the movable object 4 during electric rotation, an unreasonable load does not act on a gear mechanism part 14 by idle rotation of an output shaft 18 and damage of the gear mechanism 14 can be avoided. Since a second rotating member 21 is not rotated by a plate spring 44 of a lock means 40 under turn-off state of the motor 11 when the movable object 4 is manually rotated, an uneven engagement part A is released to enable the movable object 4 to be freely rotated manually in manual rotation operation of the movable object 4. Consequently, the two types of rotation operations of the movable object 4 of manual rotation and electric rotation are considered while shortage of torque is compensated by a small sized motor 11 in this kind of the electric hinge device 10, which is very effective for promotion of miniaturization of the electric hinge device 10.
