<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for controlling a motor for suppressing a torque ripple. <P>SOLUTION: According to the dead time compensating control of an electric power steering apparatus, dead time compensating amounts DTUp, DTUm, DTVp, DTVm, DTWp and DTWm by a dead time compensation control means 52q are found by a dead time compensating value calculating means 52p based on at least one of (1) voltage command values Vu*, Vv*, and Vw* to a PWM control, (2) the output voltage values Vu, Vv and Vw of an inverter 56, (3) the DC power source voltage value Vb of a DC power source Batt, and (4) current command values Iu*, Iv* and Iw* or output current values Iu, Iv and Iw. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
