PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mount a dropoff prevention member simply without working the front of the post nor using fixing means such as screws. SOLUTION: The article dropoff preventor includes an upper engaging piece 17 which is extended backward at the upper part of a base piece 14 facing upward or downward that enables a receptacle 12 for mounting the dropoff prevention member thereon to abut on the front of the post 1 and has a retaining pawl 7a at the rear end thereof to be engaged with an engaging hole 2 provided in the inside surface of the post 1 and a lower engaging piece 18 which is extended backward at the lower part of the base piece 14 and has a stopper piece 18a at the rear end thereof, which is engaged with the rear side of a reinforcing piece 8 provided on the undersurface of the front of a shelf board 4 so as to regulate the upward or forward movement of itself.
