摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device of formaldehyde having a short detection time, capable of continuous measurement, and comprising a simple structure. SOLUTION: First and second gas passages 3, 4 are connected mutually in parallel to a gas supply port 1 of a sample gas containing formaldehyde. In the first passage 3, a first catalyst body 6 for reducing formaldehyde and carbon oxides in a hydrogen atmosphere into hydrocarbons, and a first detection means 7 for detecting the hydrocarbon quantity in the gas after passing the first catalyst body 6 are disposed. In the second passage 4, a second cooling trap 8 for trapping and removing formaldehyde by cooling and condensing it, a second catalyst body 9 for reducing the carbon oxides included in the gas after passing the second cooling trap 8 in the hydrogen atmosphere into hydrocarbons, and a second detection means 10 for detecting the hydrocarbon quantity in the gas after passing the second catalyst body 9 are disposed.
