PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form liquid crystal dots without causing a void. SOLUTION: The method includes steps of forming a sealing material on a first substrate, of dropping a liquid crystal onto the first substrate, and of joining the fist substrate with the liquid crystal dropped and a second substrate. The direction where the R, G, B pixels are alternately formed on the first substrate is defined as continuous pixel direction (X direction), while the direction where the R, G, B pixels in the same color are connected is defined as unit pixel direction (Y direction). The liquid crystal dots are formed by dropping the liquid crystal in an active region surrounded by the sealing material to satisfy A≤B in the step of dropping the liquid crystal onto the first substrate, wherein A is the distance between the liquid crystal dots dropped by moving along the continuous pixel direction in the active region and B is the distance between the liquid crystal dots formed by moving along the unit pixel direction in the active region.
