PURPOSE: A length-adjustable gas lifter of a tailgate door is provided to freely change the height and movement characteristic of the tailgate door by adjusting the length and gas pressure of the gas lifter to usage and temperature properties by forming a lever unit having a screw structure for regulating the length and gas pressure in a cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A length-adjustable gas lifter of a tailgate door is composed of body connecting units(11a,11b) connected to the tailgate door and a vehicle body; a cylinder(12) integrally combined with one body connecting unit; an operating rod(13) integrated with the other body connecting unit; a cylindrical regulating lever(14) screw-combined along threads(12a) formed on an inner wall of the cylinder at a constant section; and a piston-type stopper(15) combined to one end of the regulating lever to perform a constraining function for constraining a moving interval of a piston(16) and a sealing function for preventing the leakage of oil flowing between the piston and the stopper. The stopper includes a through-hole(15a) through which a portion of the operating rod passes to slide.
