PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which improves both abrasion resistance and gas resistance while reconciling both characteristics and achieves further prolongation of service life. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by providing a photosensitive layer on a conductive substrate, wherein the photosensitive layer contains a polyarylate having a repeating unit represented by formula (1) as a binder resin, wherein X represents a phenylene group, a naphthylene group, or a biphenylene group. The polyarylate is contained in an amount of≥30 wt.% on the basis of the entire binder resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
