<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a uniform thin film having high film strength, at the time of producing a thin film consisting of hydrophobic particles using a micelle electrolytic process, by improving the cohesion between the hydrophobic particles. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of producing a thin film where hydrophobic particles are made soluble by using a micelle formation agent consisting of a ferrocene derivative in an aqueous solvent, and the obtained micelle solution, i.e., dispersion solution is subjected to electrolytic treatment to deposit a thin film of the hydrophobic substance on an electrode, the thin film obtained by the production method is subjected to coagulation treatment.
