In an elevator load detecting device, rod-side pulleys are respectively mounted on a plurality of shackle rods. A plurality of frame-side pulleys are mounted to a frame fixed to a base. The intermediate portion of a detection wire is alternately wrapped around the rod-side pulleys and the frame-side pulleys. One end portion of the detection wire is connected to the frame. The other end portion of the detection wire is wrapped around a detection pulley mounted on the frame. The rotation angle of the detection pulley is detected by a sensor main body.
