PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system effective for the one-ringing call countermeasure which does not inform a portable telephone terminal of a call terminated thereat as a bothering call. SOLUTION: The communication system comprises an exchange station 2 accommodating originating terminals 1, and base stations 4 connecting to call terminating terminals 3 over radio lines provided with a network 5. The base station 4 has a central controller 41 for controlling the entire base station. The controller 41 comprises a terminating call detector 411 for detecting a terminating call from an originating terminal 1 and a terminating signal sending controller 412 which sends an RBT to the originating side, when the detector 411 detects a terminating call, and then sends a terminating signal for notifying the termination to the call terminating terminal 3, thereby ringing with a terminating sound.
