PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents reproducing apparatus capable of reproducing pay contents with economical efficiency. SOLUTION: The contents reproducing apparatus with a telephone function is provided with: an output means for outputting a ringer signal in response to the arrival of a call from an opposite party; and a disabling means for displaying the output means for a reproduction period of pay contents. A main CPU 16 allows a DSP 20 to decode broadcast data included in a radio broadcast packet signal received via a LAN controller 14 when in a radio mode and gives PCM data after the decoding to a digital/analog converter circuit 22. As a result, speakers 28, 30 output sound of an Internet radio broadcast program. When a phone call arrives, the main CPU 16 is set to a telephone mode. That is, the main CPU 16 allows the DSP 20 to decode received data included in a phone call packet signal received via the LAN controller 14 and gives the PCM data after the decoding to a PCM CODEC 32. As a result, a speaker 36a of a receiver 36 outputs a call received sound. However, when a radio program during reception is a pay program, the main CPU 16 is not switched over to the telephone mode.
