摘要 PURPOSE: A device for processing an MPCP(Multi-Point Control Protocol) in an EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network) is provided to enable a CPU to transceive optional frames including an MPCP frame and to statically or dynamically assign a grant, thereby smoothly performing EPON communication. CONSTITUTION: A CPU interface(405) transceives data with an outer CPU. An SGA table memory(415) stores static grant assign tables. An RTT table memory(420) stores dynamic grant frames. Memory arbitration portions(410a,410b) control the memories(415,420). A static grant generator(425) periodically generates static grant frames. A dynamic grant generator(430) generates the dynamic grant frames. A static grant queue(435) stores the static grant frames. A dynamic grant queue(440) stores the dynamic grant frames. A transmission message queue(445) stores transmission message frames. A transmission multiplexer(450) selects one of the queues(435,440,445) to read the selected queue, and outputs contents of the read queue. A time setup portion(455) sets time information, and transmits Ethernet frames to an MAC transmitter according to the time information. A receiving demultiplexer(470) demultiplexes the Ethernet frames. A report queue(475) stores report information received from the receiving demultiplexer. A receiving message queue(480) stores the Ethernet frames.
