PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing bottle cans by which the male screw part for every bottle can is formed into the same quality and at a fixed lead angle without forming a line-like part in the male screw part and also the height of the thread is uniformly formed, and to provide a device therefor. SOLUTION: A screw forming apparatus 20 is provided with: an inner rolling member 23 having the screw forming part for forming, on the outer circumference, the screw part in the base part of a bottle-shaped body; an outer rolling member 24 having a screw forming part 22 of a shape corresponding to the screw forming part 21 of the inner rolling member 23; and a press mechanism 25 which is rotated by holding the base part between the inner and outer rolling members 23 and 24 which are supported so as to freely be rolled when performing the screw forming work. A brake mechanism 30 for releasing the regulation of rolling of the members 23 and 24 at the start of the screw forming work and regulating the rolling of the members 23 and 24 at the completion of the screw forming work is provided.
