BACK COVER FOR SUPPORTING DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

Disclosed are a back cover which is affixed to the back of a flat panel display panel such as an LCD, an OLED, and a PDP and which supports and protects the display panel, and a method for producing the same. The back cover for supporting the display panel comprises: a core layer to have a panel structure to be able to support the display panel; and a pair of skin layers which are positioned on both surfaces of the core layer, wherein the core layer consists of a lightweight material which is selected from the group consisting of paper, wood, synthetic resin, foamed synthetic resin, foam rubber, and mixtures thereof, and the skin layer consists of a fiber reinforced composite material including reinforcing fibers made of long fibers and a resin matrix impregnated with the reinforcing fibers.
