PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near-infrared ray absorbing filter which contains dimmonium-based coloring matter and is superior in durability of the coloring matter such as moisture resistance. SOLUTION: The near-infrared ray absorbing filter has a compound containing resin layer represented by an image 1 (where R1to R8represent alkyl groups with optional substituents, X-represents a univalent or bivalent negative ion, and (n) is an integer of 1 or 2, and rings A and B have optional substituents). Further, the resin layer of the filter has an acryl-based resin containing a constitution unit represented by an image 2 (where R9is a hydrogen atom or alkyl group and R10is a polycyclic alicylic ring).
