<p>The apparatus monitors at least one object (1) e.g. a house. The object has at least one video recording device (C) and is connected to an ISDN telecommunication network. It is connected via the network to a monitoring centre (2). The monitoring centre has a video telephone (BT) to monitor the object and a mobile telephone (MT) for exchanging information with the person. The monitoring centre can trigger an acoustic and/or visual alarm (A) at the object site. Alternatively an alarm can be triggered at an emergency centre. The object pref. has a video phone to transmit the video data from the video recording device (C). Pref. the object also has a door intercom system with an integral camera which is connected to the monitoring centre via the telephone network.</p> |
