The valve arrangement comprises an inlet valve unit (I) and at least one control valve unit (M1) with an open center. The inlet valve unit has three inlet ports (13-15) and three corresponding outlet ports (18-20), the first and second outlet ports (18, 19) being connected to a single inlet port (31) in the control valve unit, and the third outlet port (20) acting as a tank return port. Hydraulic fluid is supplied to the inlet ports via a flow distributor having one end connected to the first inlet port (13) and the opposite end connected to the second and third inlet ports (14, 15). In a first position, the inlet valve unit connects the first and second inlet ports with the second and third outlet ports, whilst preventing fluid from flowing from the third inlet port to the third outlet port. In a second position, the fluid is allowed to flow from the first and second inlet ports to the second and third outlet ports, whilst the third inlet port is connected to the third outlet port. |
