The invention relates to a unit area in a motor vehicle for receiving operating units, which is mounted upstream from an end wall (13) separating a passenger area (12) from an engine area (11) which can be covered by an engine hood (17) and which is enclosed as far as an access opening (15) directed towards the engine hood (17). In order to achieve low-cost and space-saving integration of a device for supplying air into the unit area, said device being usually arranged separately in the engine area, for an air consumer arranged in the passenger area, a gas-tight additional air connection is created in the unit area to an air inlet (21) arranged in the motor hood, a water separator (38) is integrated and an outgoing air outlet is arranged in such a way that it is approximately congruent with the suction opening of the air consumer in the end wall. |
