PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a dynamic range required by an A/D converter at a DC demodulation section in the communication device of a radio communication system using a digital modulation system. SOLUTION: A second orthogonal modulation section 123 digitally demodulates transmission data. A phase/amplitude control unit 118 controls a phase and amplitude so that a desired component in a signal, where the output signal of a power amplifier 113 is distributed, equals the amplitude of a reference modulation signal 124 and the phase differs by 180 degrees. In a second directional coupler 120, the two signals are synthesized as a feedback signal for updating nonlinear distortion compensation data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
