The reactor to decalcify water, with a simultaneous separation of hazardous matter, also disinfects it and kills durable forms of parasites. The treatment zone (1) has an inflow for the raw water and an outflow for the treated water, and a direct or indirect water heating (10). One or more horizontal and removable plates (4), to deflect the water flow, are at the lower section of the reactor, and at a gap from its base. They are attached to the side walls and have perforated edges (5). An external gassing unit, with an active carbon filter (9) and an air pump (7), has a feed pipe leading into the center of the reactor, with a gas distributor (6) under the plate(s). With an intermittent operation, the outflow is between the reactor base and the plate(s) and, on continuous working, the outflow is above the plate(s).
