PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method for driving the same are provided to realize the high quality of the display surface by reducing the undesired illumination and improving the contrast of the image. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel includes a plurality of first electrodes(4), a plurality of second electrodes(11), a spacer(8), a plurality of third electrodes(5) and a concave portion(7a). The first electrodes(4) are formed on one of the substrates in the form of stripe with facing to the other substrate. The second electrodes(11) are formed on the other substrate with being orthogonal to the direction of the first electrodes(4). The spacer(8) is formed between the second electrodes. The concave portion(7a) is defined by the spacer(7a). And, the third electrodes(5) are formed between the first electrodes(4) with being parallel to the direction of the first electrodes(4).
