<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image adjusting method and an image forming apparatus by which the wasteful use of developer is prevented in the case that the abnormality (error) of an image quality arises at the time of color matching adjustment. <P>SOLUTION: A registration detector 21 to detect the abnormality of the image quality in a reference image and an adjustment objective image transferred to a transfer belt 7 is provided, and in the case that the abnormality is not detected in the image quality of the reference image but is detected in that of the adjustment objective image by an abnormality detecting means, the transfer of the adjustment objective image of a color component where the abnormality is detected to the transfer belt 7 is suspended, and an adjustment image is formed by transferring the adjustment objective image of a color component where the abnormality is not detected to the transfer belt 7, so that the forming position of the adjustment objective image of the color component where the abnormality is not detected is adjusted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
