PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide erythrocyte sedimentation measuring technique wherein suitable treatment judgement is enabled even a subject of status critical at illness and injury which cannot extract the amount of bloods required for measuring. SOLUTION: A plurality of test vessels 1, 1 in which blood is accommodated are statically and slantingly arranged. Light is projected on the vessels 1, 1 by a light projection means 3. The light which permeated inside the vessels 1, 1 is received with a single CCD area sensor camera 4. On the basis of image data output from the camera 4, projection outer diameter dimension and projection liquid level height of liquid samples in each vessel 1 are measured, and when erythrocyte sedimentation is computed, on the basis of the foregoing measured result standard arithmetic operation or compensation arithmetic operation are performed, thereby computing the erythrocyte sedimentation.
