LIQUID CRYSTALLINE FILM AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystalline film nearly free from defects and having high quality while the cost thereof is suppressed. SOLUTION: The liquid crystalline film is manufactured by using an alignment substrate consisting of a plastics film or sheet subjected to rubbing treatment, forming a thin film of a liquid crystal substance on the alignment substrate and performing alignment and alignment fixation of a liquid crystal. The rubbing treatment is performed by scraping the surface of the plastics film or sheet and the alignment substrate after the rubbing treatment is subjected to wet washing treatment to obtain the liquid crystalline film nearly free from the defects and having high quality.
