PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF MICROSPHERES AND UNIT THEREFOR

In the production of microspheres by an in-water drying method, an iterative process is employed which comprises emulsifying a medicated polymer solution (4) containing an organic solvent in an emulsifier (1) to form an emulsion, transferring this emulsion to a microsphere storage tank (2), introducing a part of the emulsion into a cross flow filter (3) from the tank (2), and returning a solution passing through the filter to the tank (2). The process permits the downsizing and closing of a unit for repeating the production of a small amount of microspheres and makes it possible to control the production scale of microspheres freely.
