<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device having an enhanced light extracting efficiency provided with a light emitting element wherein a pair of electrodes are formed to a side opposite to a substrate face. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device is provided with a light emitting element wherein a pair of the electrodes are formed to a side opposite to the substrate face and that is mounted on a base by directing the substrate side downward; a plurality of granular bodies placed between the light emitting element 10 and the base; and a reflecting layer formed on the surface of the granular bodies. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
