PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for maintaining/controlling the temperature of liquid raised quickly and kept within a narrow range and a method for the system. SOLUTION: The system for controlling the temperature of the liquid by heating or cooling the liquid by temperature adjusting water has a heater, a chiller, and a hot water/cold water mixing means which mixes hot water heated by the heater and cold water cooled by the chiller into the temperature adjusting water. The method for controlling the temperature of the liquid uses the heater, the chiller, and the mixing means for mixing hot water heated by the heater and cold water chilled by the chiller, and the temperature adjusting water, after heating or cooling the liquid, is distributed to the heater and the chiller by a temperature adjusting water distributing means and circulated. The temperature of the temperature adjusting water is changed by the set temperature of the hot water, the set temperature of the cold water, and the mixing ratio of the mixing means.
