PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to improve display quality of the liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes the first substrate(1), gate lines that are formed on the first substrate and transmit a scan signal, data lines that are formed on the first substrate and transmit a video signal, and pixel electrodes(190) respectively formed at the intersections of the gate lines and data lines. The liquid crystal display further includes the second substrate(2) opposite to the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer(3) formed between the first and second substrates, a black matrix(220) formed on one of the first and second substrates, and a reference electrode(270) that is formed on one of the first and second substrates and placed opposite to the pixel electrode. The aperture region of consecutive three pixel rows including a pixel row having only one data line adjacent thereto is smaller than the aperture region of other pixel rows. |
