<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by reducing concentration of stress on each branch optical fiber at a branch reinforcement part 20 for an optical fiber cord. <P>SOLUTION: At the branch reinforcement part 20 for the optical fiber cord where a branch part 9 formed by branching a multiple optical fiber cord 1 having a plurality of optical fibers 5 in a jacket 2 into branch optical fibers 7 less than the optical fibers of the optical fiber cord 1 is reinforced by being put in a protection member 10, a reinforcing tube 8 which has one end 8a projected from the protecting member and the other end 8b put in the protecting member is fitted to an outer circumference of each branch optical fiber 7 and the branch optical fiber 7 is extended from the tip 8a of the reinforcing tube 8 which projects from the protecting member 10.
