<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of the operation of a floating slider by shifting the structural resonance frequency of a load beam to a higher band. <P>SOLUTION: A floating slider 4 is provided, as components, with a slider section 12 which faces the recording surface of a disk-like recording medium 2 and an objective lens 11 which is supported on the slider section and condenses a light beam on the recording surface of the disk-like recording medium. When the length in the projecting direction from the base end in the projecting direction from the supporting base 7 side of the load beam 8 to the center of gravity of the floating slider is defined as H and the length in the direction orthogonal with the projecting direction of the base end on the supporting base side of the load beam as W, the ratio H/W is set at 0.6 to 1.2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
