<p>The present invention provides a novel system, method and apparatus for managing call progress in a wireless system having a base station and a plurality of subscriber stations. The system provides for a call manager at a subscriber station that generates call progress tones or other indicia to a telephone at the subscriber station, and reserves the allocation of a voice channel between the subscriber station and the base station until the telephone at the subscriber station and a telephone at the other end of the telephone call are actually ready to connect, such as where both telephones have actually picked-up off their receiver.</p> |
