<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a suspicious person from entering an elevator and shorten the waiting time for the elevator at an elevator hall. <P>SOLUTION: A gate device 4 for communicating the elevator hall 3 of a building with its outside is provided. The gate device 4 consists of a side wall 5, an outer gate 6 and an inner gate. When a resident inserts an identification card into a card insertion slot 9 and is determined to be a person who has an entry permit, the inner gate 7 is opened. When the resident passes through the gate device, the outer gate 6 closes and the inner gate closes. The resident takes the identification card out of a card take-out slot 10 and goes to the desired hall 3. After the identification card is verified, a call of the elevator 2 to the hall is registered, and the resident enters the elevator which has reached the floor corresponding to the registry. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
