PURPOSE: Provided is a first treatment method of sewage using activated carbon and sludge instead of using chemicals to provide cohesion to contaminant in sewage for separating sewage into sludge and decant water by gravity settling. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (a) introducing activated sludge returned from a sedimentation tank to a sewage tank and performing aeration in the sewage tank, (b) adding activated carbon to the aerated sewage to increase cohesion of contaminant in the sewage and separating sludge by gravity sedimentation in a sedimentation tank, (c) returning the settled sludge to the sewage tank and transferring the decant water to a dissolved air flotation tank, and (d) floating remained sludge by buoyant force and removing the floated sludge.
