SOLUTION: In a system and a method for supplying pulsed electric power to an X-ray tube (200) equipped with an X-ray tube (200) having an anode (206) and a cathode (204) and a power source (300) meant to supply a gap acceleration potential between the anode (206) and the cathode (204) and supply photons (310), the gap voltage and the photons (310) are pulsed and received by the X-ray tube (200) from the power source (300) via a single cable, and a pulsed X-ray radiation (220) is radiated.
