PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for calculating a position in which an acquisition means for sensor data and satellite positioning data is installed to a control device that is different from a control device with a position calculation means thereby obtaining sensor data and satellite positioning data without loss of the data, even when the control device with a position calculation means has not been initialized yet. SOLUTION: The device comprises a sub-control device 10 having a data acquisition part 12 which stores obtained sensor data and satellite positioning data in an obtained data storage part 16 and sends the data to a position calculation processing part 22 of a main control device 20 through the second communication driver 14, receives the first request for starting sensor data sending output from the position calculation processing part 22 through the first communication driver 24, and sends sensor data obtained until initialization of the main control device 20 stored in the obtained data storage part 16 is completed according to the first request for starting sensor data sending, to the position calculation processing part 22 through the second communication driver 14.
