PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably perform high quality image recording by suppressing temperature rise of the whole optical system as much as possible. SOLUTION: An optical system which performs optical scanning by deflecting laser beam from a LD (laser disk) 23 by a polygon mirror 33 is stored in a housing 21. A peripheral wall of the housing 21 has an inside wall section 21A forming a space in which the optical system is stored and an outside wall section 21B surrounding the outer circumference side of the inside wall section 21A and a space is formed between the inside wall section 21A and the outside wall section 21B. This optical scanner and an image recorder are constituted so that refrigeration of the optical system is performed by introducing fluid for refrigeration from an inflow port 52 to the space and discharging the fluid from an outlet 53.
