AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD, AUTHENTICATION PROGRAM, AND PAPER MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system capable of guaranteeing the originality of a document on a paper medium and a document of the same content on an electronic medium by matching the documents against each other for authentication.

SOLUTION: The authentication system first lets a user make an entry on predetermined printed matter. The system receives information entered by the user as data and creates an electronic document based on the entry information received. The system further creates a code to specify the electronic document created. The system attaches or affixes to the printed matter the code and identification information as authentication information for uniquely identifying the electronic document created. After the document is used for some purpose, the system can detect whether or not the printed matter or the electronic document has been altered, based on the authentication information attached or affixed to the printed matter.
