PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a relative yaw angle, that is a turn angle of a trailer with respect to a coupler base about the axis of the coupler base, with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: An outer periphery of the coupler base 3 is formed so as to have an involute curve. The relative yaw angle is detected based on the position of a point P2 on the outer periphery of the coupler base 3. Concretely, the relative yaw angle is calculated, for example, based on the distance D1 between the point P2 and a fixed point P1, wherein the point P2 is located on a straight line L extending from the fixed point P1 with respect to the trailer 22 to the center axis CL1 of the coupler base 3, and is located on the outer periphery of the coupler base 3.
