PURPOSE: A thermostat and control method of egr cooler for vehicle are provided to achieve improved fuel efficiency by controlling flow of the coolant supplied from the engine and temperature of the coolant flowing through the EGR cooler. CONSTITUTION: A thermostat comprises an engine coolant inlet(22) for inflow of the coolant supplied from an engine(10); an engine coolant outlet(24) for discharging the engine coolant to a radiator(30); a radiator coolant inlet(23) for inflow of the coolant supplied from the radiator to the engine; an EGR coolant temperature sensor for sensing the coolant temperature of an EGR cooler(20); and an engine coolant inlet control valve for controlling the flow rate of the coolant supplied from the engine.
