PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting supplementary device and its operation method which can execute preparatory work for mold clamping by casting equipment effectively and reliably, such as an air blow and application of parting agent both on a fixed mold and a movable mold, and attachment of a screen filter to a runner. SOLUTION: The casting supplementary device is attached to a tip of a robot arm and put in and out of between the fixed metal mold 91 and the movable metal mold 92 opened in the casting equipment. It comprises as an integrated unit the air blow mechanism 20 to blow air to the fixed mold 91 and the movable mold 92, the parting agent coating mechanism 30 to spray the parting agent to the fixed mold 91 and the movable mold 92, and the screen filter attaching mechanism 40 which holds the screen filter 93 to fit it into a screen filter holding groove arranged on the fixed mold 91 or the movable mold 92.
