PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a testing method of optical fiber components and a testing apparatus of optical fiber components for detecting the optical fiber components having a low-strength optical fiber before fitting the components to equipment. SOLUTION: The optical fiber component testing apparatus comprises a headset block 12 for fitting a master head 1 where an optical fiber strand 3 whose resin covering is removed is provided; and an array assumption base 16 that can reciprocate with respect to the master head 1 being fitted to the head set block 12. The array assumption base 16 has a round rod 17 that comes into contact with the optical fiber strand 3 accompanied by reciprocating motion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
