In a heat exchanger with a casing, having a large number of tubes where high temperature heating gas circulates, thermal stress is smoothly absorbed, and fluid to be heated or heated fluid circulates uniformly on the outer face si de of each of the tubes. Both ends of a large number of flat tubes are joined t o a pair of circular disk-like tube plates, the outer periphery of the flat tubes are covered by an inner tube with a square cross section with both end portions of the flat tube group left uncovered, and a pair of baffle plates is provided at both ends of the inner tube. The pair of the baffle plates is covered by hollow cylinder-like outer tube having a thermally expansible portion bent in a wave form. Inlet and outlet openings for fluid to be heate d or heated fluid are provided between the pair of the baffle plates and individual tube plates. |
